When not in the club 2 COOL C is touring the country playing at exclusive high school and college events. He plays a mix of the latest music with many classics mixed in. He is known to feature many exclusive tracks never heard before in any club, done by some of the top DJ's and artists in the world. The musical emphasis is hip hop, reggae, old school, vocal dance/house and progressive tracks that still fit into a mainstream audience. He has legions of fans that come see him for his set of classic party jams. The first album DJ 2 COOL C bought was “King of Rock” by Run DMC, inspired by nights spent at an influential club called Pulsations back in the early 90’s. While attending some of the best clubs of the time, 2 COOL C was beginning to develop his own style of playing music to the masses. Combining the sounds of dance and hip-hop all in one party, he works the perfect balance to keep the energy high and to make everyone move. In his first night club residency 2 COOL C teamed up with another superb Philadelphia mixer, DJ Brian Latocha. Together the tag-team duo performed every Sunday Night at what started as Club Manhattan and then turned into the Shark Club. Playing to over a 1000 young adults every week, they teamed up with then nighttime personality Chio from Q102. Forming an instant bond with the new (in 1994) jock, they had an incredible 5 year run. This led to many new opportunities working with Q102 and in the Philadelphia club scene. With gaining more exposure, this led to new opportunities for 2 COOL C. In 1997 he started spinning at The Lagoon nightclub. At the Lagoon, he had the opportunity to work further with Q102 radio and perform with top acts such as the legendary Run-DMC, Amber, DJ Kool, Quad City DJ’s, Grandmaster Flash, and many others. While gaining notoriety as one of the top party DJ’s in the area he started playing at different clubs all through out the Tri-State area. So 2 COOL C began to take his show on the road, to venues like Brownies 23 East (Ardmore, PA), Iguana Beach Club (Cherry Hill, NJ), Yellow Jackets (Philadelphia, PA), The Barn (Philadelphia, PA), Barnabys (PA and DE), Club 1415 (Philadelphia, PA), Kahuna Nightclub (Wilmington, DE), Brave New World (Philadelphia, PA), Club Pegasus (Philadelphia, PA), among other first class establishments. After carving his niche as being one the most versatile DJ’s in Philadelphia, In 1998 he was offered a spot in a hot new club on the Delaware Avenue strip called The Baja Beach Club. At this time he was spinning 2 nights a week, (Thursday and Sundays) spinning hip-hop, old school, and reggae to a packed house inside and out of over 9000 people at a time. Working live on the radio with Philly 103.9 every Thursday, he was able to make many new contacts in the industry. This gave him the chance to mix along side hip-hop DJ icons such as Biz Markie, DJ S&S, Jay Ski, DJ Excel, Kid Capri, and Baby DST. Having the hottest Thursday night in the city, 2 COOL C also got to show his skills with the likes of Gangstarr, Jay-Z, Beanie Siegel, Memphis Bleek, Ja Rule, Lil Kim, Slick Rick, The Beatnuts, The Alkoholiks, Comedians Mark Curry and Javon Pearson, and countless players from the Sixers, and Eagles. On Sunday nights the club was opened up to the 17-24 crowd. 2 COOL C spinning the best hip hop, and DJ Moe Green spinning the hottest house music. The two teamed up to make for some of the best parties and events people had ever seen. Having lines stretched around the block, these Sunday nights were known to last till 5 in the morning. While having two days a week going strong, he was approached by a club in the outskirts of the city called Brownies Plymouth Nightclub. Wanting to bring the same energy and party atmosphere people were going to the city for out to the suburbs, they brought in 2 COOL C as a resident on Saturday nights. At the already popular nightclub quickly “Live Saturday Night” became the busiest night of the week, bringing in up to 1500 people. In his almost 6 year residency he played with the hottest bands in the market such as Split Decision, Mr. Greengenes, Steamroller Picnic, Speed, Engine #9, and so many others. Becoming almost a fixture in the club before it was forced to move from its location and close its doors forever, he took over both Friday and Saturday nights, making it truly the place to be each and every weekend. Because of the popularity, nationally known acts were performing all of the time such as Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock, Naughty by Nature, Vanilla Ice, and Brian Trevor. Late in 2002 DJ 2 COOL C hooked up with Brian Trevor, a rising star in the hip hop world. Joining Brian, along with MC Vudu, they added the skills of Philly’s #1 party rocker to the show. Performing at the Tweeter Center for Q102’s Q Concert, and his album scheduled for the fall look for big things to happen for this hot Philly artist, along with 2 COOL C bangin’ out the beats. Today, along with his endeavors with developing and bringing out new music, 2 COOL C is still mixing as much as ever, and working on his own re-mixes and edits. Traveling the country from Las Vegas to Florida and back to Philly again you can always catch 2 COOL C at the hottest clubs, colleges, and parties all year long.
